Star Cross Lovers

This is a love story, as you may have gathered by the foregoing sonnet—what’s romance without poetry? You’ll learn hardships plagued our two young lovers beyond belief. Tragedy befell them in so many ways, some too horrific to describe, not here, not now. Though their torment was shocking and profound, their love was so much more, and so this story—their story—demands to be told. A warning: there is grief in the telling, it’s unavoidable given the truth of what happened. But because they loved with such joy, their story is one that will be told throughout the ages.

They suffered trauma, agony, and unspeakable evil, yet they persevered and abide as two become one. Their love transcended the vengeance, the betrayals, the deceit, and every instance of ugliness that dominated their world. Even in death, their love endured, and with it, life. You see, this story is about love, yes, but also about life. For their love transcended all, and in the end, life prevailed. Even still, life prevails.
