We are defined by the stories we tell ourselves.

In human history, there are several dangerous stories that are told:

1) The story of selfish ambition - Become rich and famous and the world will revolve around you.
2) The story of economic necessity – We have bills to pay and are here to make a living.
3) The story of short-term profit maximization – The only thing that counts is what can be counted. If it doesn’t make dollars, it doesn’t make sense.

These messages deny, overlook, or minimize the greater story that leads to a greater quality of life, quality of character and positive impact on the world. If we take time to think about the greatest people who ever walked this earth, however imperfectly they lived, their lives were impactful because they chose to live with this greater story in mind. The story is this - your life is a gift from God and what you do with your life is a gift to God. – What an opportunity to speak through your life and work!
