Binge Listened, I could not put it down!

I enjoy listening to fantasy books because most have an HEA ending. The first three books led me to believe that’s what I’ll be getting at the end with the MC and FC . What actually happened was the biggest twist of all with a HEA ending just not what I expected.
A little surprised but thoroughly enjoyed book four anyway. I recommend listening to the complete series. So worth it. Action, fun and witty banter, romance, suspense and SpicyLove Scenes all the right elements for a captivating fantasy listen. Chandra Skype Is an excellent narrator.

Crazy ending...

After almost 35 hours of listening to all 4 books, the last 20 minutes or so of the last book was like whiplash. It was such an odd and unexpected ending. It also added extra info right at the end, making it seem like the series is unfinished

It was absolutely crazy how the couple who had been so in love over multiple books just moves on after losing eachother to someone else within weeks. I kind of saw her ending up with Mikal, but Rafe ends up with Annabelle?! smh, how weird...

Excellent but feels unfinished

I really hope she decides to make either another trilogy or a standalone to tie up loose ends. I was very saddened by the ending but we have to learn to accept not everything works out the way we want it to in life or a book. It is the author's vision not ours. Definitely worth the read. Everything she writes is worth the read.

Just could not get past the narrator.

I would like to believe this has potential. The inflection and made up accent of the male just grated on my ears. I really tried. got to the part where they were getting intimate and I just did not care. stopped.

I liked, BUT...

I enjoyed the 3 main characters:
Rafe, Emma & Mikhail. They all had likable personalities and attitudes.

However, this is beyond pure smut!!

I think I'm going to have to pass on this author in the future. This is the 2nd series I've listened to by her, and both have been too heavily filled with s3x. I don't mind a bit of it sprinkled throughout a story & when it's told well, but this author puts way too much emphasis on getting busy & less energy into writing a strong story.

The plot, which was good, is overshadowed by the revolting, poorly written smut.

Let's not forget that women are treated worse than property for the most part throughout the entire series. This shocks me seeing as it was written by a woman!

And then we have the ending, yeah let's talk about that real quick... To put it bluntly, it sucked!! I was thoroughly unimpressed!

Mikhail definitely deserved a good outcome after everything he went through.

Rafe did not deserve his destiny.

While I think Emma is resilient & will persevere, her actions and reactions didn't warrant her fate by any means!

And Annabelle should have been fried from the get go. For her to get everything she ever wanted is just wrong on every level!

And as for the last couple minutes of the series I can safely say that I was left utterly confused; being told 1 thing, immediately followed by the complete antithesis of what was just told! Talk about being both a cliffhanger with no sight of a conclusion with clarification and just 2 statements made in the very end where both cannot be true!

I may give this author 1 more chance, but more than likely, she is probably officially off of my reading list from here on out...
