When Madeline meets a demon on her way home from a Halloween party, she thinks it’s a clever costume. Wrong. It’s a real demon come to steal her soul, and the only thing preventing it is the two former Army Rangers next door.

One of them, Chance, wants to marry Maddy, so the two former soldiers decide to save her by sending the demon back to Hell. No problem. They are experienced war fighters and are good a what they do.

But when the demon comes for Maddy, Chance’s buddy ends up being taken instead. Chance decides to enter the demon’s world on a rescue mission but insists Maddy not go because it’s too dangerous for her, the intended victim, to enter the place where souls are held for harvesting.

But Maddy’s interactions with the demon have taught her much about that other dimension. She knows she can help. So she accompanies Chance despite his protests. And hopes she won’t cause both of them to lose their souls.
