Griffin McCabe’s fondest memory is of that day at the county fair when he and his dad rode the Ferris wheel, soaring high above a silvery Southern California shoreline. It was a day he hoped would last forever.

Now, thirty years later, that memory is complicated by the devastating trauma that came in its wake, along with a recent car accident that could reverse all the progress he made to recover.
