The first novel based on Robert E. Howard’s uncompromising Puritan anti-hero. A haunting and intense Gothic mystery for fans of Christopher Buehlman, John Langan, and Brom.

Puritan. Fiend. Fanatic.

Solomon Kane.

In the wake of several grisly murders, Solomon Kane has been summoned to Windsend, England, to determine a woman’s guilt. Is Sybil Eastey a witch? And is she behind these gruesome crimes?

His first night in Windsend, Kane awakens from horrific nightmares only to witness a man being torn asunder. Fear quickly turns to something more sinister and the villagers are ready to lynch Sybil before Kane intervenes.

Kane must establish Sybil’s true nature and solve the macabre mystery before more blood is spilt. However, nothing is what it seems in Windsend.

This is an engrossing story. I can't say thst I was surprised at a good Solomon Kane story, but I didn't expect it to make me think about it after listening.

So good.

A solid adventure/low-fantasy story featuring a flawed protagonist with a claim to being one of the first big moody edgelords. He is aided in his effort to save a cursed town by a likeable, no-nonsense supporting supporting character.

After listening to this, I ate an entire 'jumbo' pack of boiled hotdogs (my supporting characters) and fought off a horde of dad-ghosts with prominent 'Molson muscles'. I am a modern Solomon Kane.

One Hex of a Time!

Good new addition to the tales of Solomom Kane. Worth the listen and it fits in well with the rest of R.E.H. short stories

pure fun

Good start and good ending. But one must suffer through the slow middle story. Not a lot going on during the min section of the story but it is worth the wait.

Good

The book starts out with an exciting Howardesque’ scene and quickly descends into boring modern pandering about “ good witches” and a dull dragging investigation of the supernatural murders in a puritan village. There are numerous call backs to Howard’s stories that have no real effect on the plot or Solomon Kane as he struggles through his middle age… all in all boring, trite and a huge disappointment.

Skip it…Mediocre and modern
