J. A. Mawter is an author with an adventurous spirit and an eye for mischief!

The "So..." collection is full of cheeky stories that are particularly aimed at reluctant boy readers, but have proven to have a very wide general appeal.

What happens when your mother feeds you more roughage in a week than a health farm dishes out in a year? How will Macca "iron gut" Mactavish's mates make him throw up? How will Gumby Mason score a boogie from his football Coach? If you're a fan of cockroaches, vomit, boogie, and turds - then So Gross! is the book for you. A hilarious collection of seven of the funniest and most revolting stories ever, this book is not for those with a weak stomach...

Reseñas editoriales

Kal Kingi brings energy and a brisk, conversational tone to J. A. Mawter’s So Gross, a collection of stories about boys who enjoy humor about bodily functions.

In the first story, Plunger develops uncontrollable flatulence as a result of his mother’s recent obsession with health food. In another, a group of boys try to create a menu designed to make Macca MacTavish vomit.

In his performance, Kingi’s narration is deadpan and down-to-earth, but his characterizations are often exaggerated to great comic effect.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Despite the obvious focus on horrible habits, these are amusing, if exaggerated, tales of school life." ( Magpies Magazine)
