Acerca de esta escucha
The exciting conclusion to Jason Crane's Sleepy Hollow adventure! General of the Dead is an epic work capping the first Jason Crane trilogy. The first two novels, Rise Headless and Ride and Bridge of Bones were only a prelude to this extraordinary work spanning 300 years of true Tarrytown history, interwoven with the legends, myths, and superstitions of the Dutch settlers. Impeccably researched, with absolute fidelity to the modern village, its sights, places, and byways. A brew of witches and headless horsemen, ghosts and necromancers, psychics, superheroes, Scooby-Doo, and a teen hero in a mess of trouble. A love letter to Halloween itself, to America's first literary master Washington Irving, and to the village he loved so well. A must for any fan of Irving's original, or anyone young or old who still has a pumpkin-carving kid inside them.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Everyone in Sleepy Hollow knows about the Horseman, but no one really believes in him. Not even Ben Van Brunt's grandfather, Brom Bones, who was there when it was said the Horseman chased the upstart Crane out of town. Brom says that's just legend, the village gossips talking. More than 30 years after those storied events, the village is a quiet place. Fourteen-year-old Ben loves to play "Sleepy Hollow boys", reenacting the events Brom once lived through. But then Ben and a friend stumble across the headless body of a child in the woods.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Excellent Series
I have particularly enjoyed this series. It has a unique aspect where the story gets better with each book. Perhaps it's experience, practice or seasoning of the writer? The writer showcases a prose style that is beautiful, elegant and flowing without being heady, heavy or cluttering the work. I look forward to future works from this creative mind. I think Mr. Irving would be proud and burning the midnight oil reading on to see what happens.

Excellent and satisfying conclusion
Would you listen to Sleepy Hollow: General of the Dead again? Why?
Yes definitely. I plan to listen to the trilogy again next year around Halloween. It's a fun, exciting story with characters you truly care about. And the narration is pitch perfect, I'd have to have Eric is my favorite audiobook narrator.
What did you like best about this story?
The real Sleepy Hollow was well-researched and that gave the story a certain authentic feel despite having ghosts, witches and the like. Speaking of, I love all things supernatural which is what drew me to it in the first place. I loved how it's written, it's so easy to get into the story and particularly notable is the characters. All of them are very well-developed, feel like real people, and even the villains eventually become relatable even if you still hate them. I was really invested the entire time.
Which scene was your favorite?
This is such a massive tome with so many scenes that is really, really hard to say. Perhaps Agathe's backstory, all of it.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Bleeding in the waters.
Any additional comments?
Overall a fantastic story. I've read few "conclusions" that are this satisfying in every way. It works perfectly as a final entry for Jason Crane but there are more series planned with him set in different places, and appropriately leaves it just open-ended enough for us to revisit these characters with ease. And trust me, once you finish you'll be quite anxious to see what's next for Jason & Co.

disappointing. .
This book was dragged on for so long!! it was overly flowery and descriptive and way more dramatic in spots than it should have been. the author tried much to hard to write lines that are supposed to be "profound" or emotional. and instead of being so, it fell flat and was almost comical at times. this style of writing is the same as in the previous books but this was by far the most dramatic and really pulled out to be extra long. there were also a few key details that seemed missing from the plot. overall it is still entertaining but I was disappointed by it.

A Great End to a Great Trilogy
This was a great end to the Jason Crane Trilogy. If you are a fan of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" then this is the story for you. In the last book alone, the combination of history and horror is fantastic. Between the locations and the characters, you feel like you really are in Sleepy Hollow, New York. Richard Gleaves created characters that not only feel like they are real, but you root, curse, and cry for them. He also spins a history about Sleepy Hollow that is a great mix of truth and fiction, so much that you have a hard time believing that it is just a story (Or is it?). This trilogy is definitely a great Halloween read. Highly recomended

Absolutely loved every minute!!!
Every year, on the first of September, I immediately reach for literally every version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow that I can get my hands on. It's one of my favorite stories. And I can honestly say that I genuinely believe Washington Irving would have been proud and honored at the truly wonderful job rhat Richard Gleaves did with his version of the story. I can't describe how excited this book made me. Mr. Graves, you've done absolutely superbly. And the narrator, Eric Michael Summerer, is absolute perfection. I can't imagine anyone else doing this work justice.
