A heartfelt, entertaining book

I am reviewing this for my mother who has macular degeneration and called as soon as she finished. She loved how sweet and entertaining the book was, especially since she knew Lisa as a young girl. She enjoyed that Lisa mentioned times in her life that my mother remembered and was so proud of the wonderful writer she had become. She can’t wait until she writes another book.

An Enchanting Tale

This is an easy-to-read, touching story that will leave readers feeling warm and entertained. Lisa’s engaging writing style pulls the reader in rather quickly and keeps you engaged throughout the story. I loved the way she wove tidbits of her childhood into her story about a major career experience. Knowing a bit about her earlier experiences made her challenges and experiences in China, including her initial loneliness, that much more meaningful. Lisa’s story demonstrates her courage in the face of so many doubts and shows us how important it is to overcome our fears so we can have meaningful experiences in our lives. This heartwarming story is just what we need right now.

Would give 6 stars if possible!!

A truly inspiring memoir about facing and overcoming adversity and challenges most of us would never consider undertaking. The authors reflects her warmth and compassion for those of us with human foibles, while giving keen insight from the prospective of a dog "owner" (we all know who "owns" who!). A brilliant, "mostly true" story that spans the world, and is timeless in every respect, as you constantly take a step back in wonder about how things continue to change, but stay the same. An amazing storey by a gifted author!!
