A clever and thought-provoking mystery that pays homage to classic Nancy Drew stories, perfect for fans of Wendy Mass and Trenton Lee Stewart.

Maizy always assumed she knew everything about her grandmother, Jacuzzi. So when a box full of vintage Nancy Drew books gets left at her mom’s thrift store, Maizy is surprised to find an old photo of her grandmother and two other women tucked beneath the collection. Stranger still, when Maizy shows the photo to Jacuzzi she feigns ignorance, insisting the woman is someone else. Determined to learn the truth — and inspired by the legacy of Nancy Drew — Maizy launches her own investigation with the help of new friends, Nell and Cam. What they discover not only points to the origins of the iconic series, but uncovers a truth from the past that will lead to self-discovery in the present, connecting three generations of women.

This intergenerational mystery filled with literary history, friendship, and family secrets delivers a captivating tribute to the world’s most famous girl detective.

My daughter and I loved it! A treat for all Nancy Drew fans. Will look for more from this author.

Cute and heartwarming tale

After 3 chapters, our family couldn’t take the narrator anymore. Her intonation made everyone sound like twerpy tweens - which we don’t think was the author’s intention. We found a copy of the book in print through inter-library loan and will finish it as a family read aloud. Not sure about the story itself, but highly recommend skipping this Audible.

Couldn’t Stand the Narrator

Okay, I confess, I bought this book based on the title and cover. I didn’t know it would have anything to do with Nancy Drew. Nancy was my second favorite girl-sleuth when I was little. Trixie Belden was my favorite!

This book is a heartwarming family drama that is wrapped up in a cozy mystery. There was also a little history on the creators of the original Nancy Drew series that made me cringe. But by the time I got to read the stories, they had been overly sanitized and made acceptable.

In glancing at other reviews I see complaints about the narrators voice. For the first couple of minutes, I was taken aback by her voice as well. But I quickly fell into the mystery of the story and was happy that the narrator made me forget I was heating an audiobook. I give her 5 stars for doing a stellar job.

As for the story, it was wonderful. I am left smiling and wishing this author could continue with more stories about these delightful people.

A wonderful surprise!
