Vampires are well-known at the shops in the small village of Thermford outside London. They come to Callie's grandmother's bakery to get their daily ration of blood merigues. Accepting her grandmother's customers as vampires is bad enough for American expat, Callie but to crush on one older than the antique desk in the study is beyond ridiculous. And when her grandmother enters her into a baking competition for vampires she never expected to qualify much less be in the finals. But when her competition is slowly being killed off it's up to her to figure out who the killer is before she's the next one to be sent to the great cooking oven in the sky.
