Basque is perhaps the most unique language in Europe due to its status as a language isolate. Its origins are enigmatic, predating the Roman period. This ancient language reflects the deep cultural identity of the Basque people.

The Basque language is primarily spoken in area that spans across northeastern Spain and southwestern France. In Spain, it is spoken in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, which includes the provinces of Álava, Biscay, and Gipuzkoa, as well as in parts of Navarre. In France, it is spoken in the northern part of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department. By learning Basque, you will help preserve this significant and culturally important language.
