All families have issues! Whether we are conscious of them or not, there are cultural and spiritual forces that have negatively impacted our families, resulting in generational issues that have affected different family member's lives. Examples include addictions, lack of trust, broken marriages, delayed marriages, childlessness, familial illnesses, bitterness, animosity between family members or deep shame that makes it difficult for family members to talk about the woundedness in their family system. The Simama book is the course book for a ten-week experience that equips families to gain victory over negative generational traits that have oppressed family members. Simama, is a Swahili word that means ‘stand'. The study helps us to grow in self awareness, to understand our families of origin better and therefore to be better placed to employ spiritual, emotional and psychological resources to gain victory for our families. Our prayer is that as families engage in the study together, they will experience freedom and joy in their relationships that they have not seen before!
