Have you listened to any of Nadia May’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Nadia May is always great to listen to. She is clear and is always sensitive to the authors nuances and has a good grasp of the play of dialogue, being able to bring it off the page. She understands the era she narrates and thus her renderings are always good.Good Listen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, The story is a wonderful example of redemption. and the softening of a bitter mans heart by the goodness of a child's ability to make things right. The love that Silas develops for the little girl is priceless.Have you listened to any of Nadia May’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

But I loved this book.
It made me go online andl look up several historical things I was curious about, but mostly, I loved the characters and the story.
It showed so clearly how those tragedies in our lives can also be the events which are the most beneficial to us down the road in life.
The best lesson, expressed so beautifully, is that God is more tender and kind than we, and if He allows tragedy, He will eventually bring wonderful good out of it.
Absolutely a lovely principle to reflect on at any time.
(It did start a bit slow, but hang in there!)
A good read with great life lessons
