The book follows the rise of the popularity of tattoo art during the 1990s and its transition from the shadows into the mainstream of modern culture pre internet and social media.

Written for a wider audience, Show Time provides an inside look at the shadowy ways of the tattoo Old School and gives the listener an understanding of the process of tattooing from the professional side.

This biography is a fantastic read about a young woman making her way in the tattoo industry—a world that’s often tough for women to break into. She travels all across Europe, picking up new skills, facing challenges, and proving herself in a field that was not welcoming. Pym makes it feel like you’re right there with her on the journey, from city to city, watching her grow as an artist and a person.

Pym's vivid storytelling brings each setting to life, making you feel like you're right there alongside her, watching as she hones her skills and breaks down industry barriers. This book is a testament to the courage it takes to pursue your dreams against the odds, and it left me feeling both moved and inspired. If you’re into stories of grit, passion, and finding your own path, this book is definitely worth a read!

Breaking through into a man's world

I found Ms. Pym's firsthand account both engaging and inspiring. Successfully navigating male-dominated fields in the 1980s and 1990s, and even today, demands exceptional skill and resilience; a single misstep can have lasting consequences. Her unwavering courage and determination in the face of adversity serve as a powerful example. Her life journey is truly remarkable, and her audiobook is exceptionally well-crafted. I've listened to it three times already, finding it consistently entertaining and motivating, even during my extensive travels. I wholeheartedly recommend this audiobook; it is exceptionally well-written and benefits greatly from Ms. Pym's narration. I eagerly anticipate her next audiobook.
