After living with Alice since moving to Granite, Aidan finally moves into his own place, with help from Eve and their friends. Little does Aidan know, his new apartment holds a secret. Will this secret have a connection to the latest mysterious death in the town?

The pace at which Patti Benning kept building the intrigue with this story held my attention throughout. I have read the previous books in this series, (this may seem weird), the connections I have made as a reader, it’s like revisiting with friends.

I quite liked the parallel drawn between a certain scene in Eve and Aidan’s story and that of a classic fairytale. Made me giggle!

Another fantastic performance from Julie McKay. The ease at which Julie gives life to all the characters created by Patti Benning is seamless. The transitions between male and female voices is top tier.

Thank you Patti for another enjoyable story in this series, I look forward to book eight. Thank you to Blue Nose Audio for this entertaining advanced listener copy.

Shoe ’Nuff is yet another reminder of why Patti Benning’s Search & Rescue series is such a comfort read for me.

This time around, Eve is simply trying to help her “friend” Aidan move into a new apartment. Easy, right? Excep low and behold, the apartment sits above an antique store, and the landlord downstairs turns up very dead. Because of course they do. Eve truly cannot go anywhere without stumbling into a crime scene.

What I love about Patti’s writing is how she always keeps me guessing. Just when I think I’ve got the murderer figured out, she drops another clue, another motive, another sideways glance that makes me question everything. The mystery unfolds at just the right pace, with enough twists to stay engaging without ever feeling heavy or stressful. These books are perfectly plotted “snack reads”...satisfying, cozy, and complete.

A huge shoutout to Julie McKay, who continues to absolutely shine in this series. Her narration is flawless. The pacing is spot on, the tone perfect, and her ability to give so many characters distinct, recognizable voices is next to none. She makes it effortless to stay immersed in the story, and I never once had to question who was speaking.

If you love cozy mysteries that keep you guessing without losing their warmth, Shoe ’Nuff is a delightful addition to the series and a reminder of why Patti Benning does this genre so well.
