In The Adventure of the Fallen Soufflé, world-renowned chef Auguste Escoffier is threatened with scandal and ruin even as the gambling and womanizing Prince of Wales flees Anarchist assassins, and a plot to steal the priceless Koh-i-Noor diamond is revealed.

In The Adventure of the Ghost Machine, the newest world-changing inventions of Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison have been stolen, and Holmes must overcome the greatest loss of his career by deducing the hidden connection between a single inch, 100,000 volts, and the human pulse.

Intrigue, romance, mystery, absinthe overindulgence, roasted ortolan, death rays, and women in corsets sword-fighting all await, as Dr. Watson relates these heretofore hidden cases of Sherlock Holmes.

Interesting stories, big changes

The book had interesting stories involving famous historical characters, but a word of warning - varies considerably from the Canon (the title partially gives that away). Performance was good, but the vocalization of Watson was a little too loud at times.

A different Holmes

These stories hinge on an ongoing romantic relationship between Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler, who disguises herself as Mrs. Hudson. The cases involve famous people - Vincent van Gogh, Oscar Wilde, Nikola Tesla as well as others such as Professor Moriarty’s daughter. The stories were interesting and entertaining. I did not like the narration. Sometimes the voices had British accents, but mostly they were North American voices. The narration could get a bit loud and screechy whenever there was a interaction between 2 or more characters. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.
