Resumen del Editor

It's Sherlock Holmes like you've never seen him before. Between the classic Sherlock sleuth skills and the twist of time travel, Sherlock Holmes 2012 is a mystery that will have you turning the pages for more.

Delve into the pages that find a woman even smarter than Sherlock. He has solved the crimes of Britain, but you will be amazed as he outwits terrorist and murderous foes on two continents and around the globe. Watch as the mind of Sherlock outsmarts the enemies of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and find out how he beats the greatest enemies of all time and how the bloodline of good old Watson has an intellect and brilliance that, when matched with Sherlock, is a force to be reckoned with.

Countdown: A Decent Story With a Great Narrator

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend this book to anyone who craves anything "Sherlock". I myself have watched pretty much every actor that has ever played Sherlock Holmes in every incarnation possible, so I unfortunately will have to be classified as one of the very people I am commenting about. My current favorite hands down is Benedict Cumberbatch. My second favorite is ironically enough Johnny Lee Miller, who has the immense good fortune of having Lucy Liu playing his female counterpart Watson on television. Both of those favorites exist in the present day world, so if that intrigues you dear listener - then this book is for you.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting aspect of this production was that it put Sherlock in both the present day or thereabouts - where I absolutely love Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller to be. It also juxtaposes the past. Nice.

The least interesting aspect I found was a certain level of predictability. With all the probabilities interjected with time travel and the like, you'd think it could have been so much more.

What about Angela Dias’s performance did you like?

I liked the fact that Angela paced herself with her narration a bit more slowly that I normally would like. Surprising, I know. Given the source material though, it allowed me to digest and absorb all the scenery and goings on more readily than other books I've listened to (whom shall not be mentioned here). There really is a lot going on, and so I did enjoy being able to visualize everything on the first listen through and not have to listen to it two or three times. Success, Angela :)

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes. Again, there are those out there who would line up to catch just a glimpse of practically anything new to the Sherlock Universe. If you cast the right actors in it, well there you go. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman all the way, with Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu hot on their heels. With the aspects of time shifting, reincarnation, and perhaps coming "back to the future" as a different version of oneself... then all 4 together would be mind blowing ;)
