Sherlock Holmes looks on idle and infuriated from the sidelines while evil has Whitechapel in the grip of fear, evil which bears the infamous name of Jack the Ripper, a name set to raise the hackles on people's necks for generations to come. A fearful officialdom has declared Sherlock persona non grata but is suffering the wrath of public opinion for its failure to bring the murderer to justice. One long poem that gets old quickly
Who really can listen to a four hour long repeating- rhyming poem? Not me. One chapter would be more than enough to prove the point that it can be done.

Wonderfully fun
Sherlock Holmes and the Menacing Monk is an excellent book. I loved this story and especially the rhyming verses. I was awed by the ability to tell the story in this poetic form. The narration by Steve White is outstanding. I was so impressed how he so effortlessly narrated the story in rhyme.

A bit grating ..
I’m not one to leave negative reviews and always try to find positive elements of a book but the constant rhyming caused me to shut off prematurely. If you appreciate poetry you may enjoy this however not continuously. Fortunately this was a free book from MX . I would not use my credit to purchase it otherwise 🤨

Save your credit for a real story
I don't know whether this tale is good or bad, but the writing sure stinks. I love poetry, but this even stinks as poetry. And if that weren't enough, the whole first chapter is a discourse on Holmes literature and the Holmes and Watson characters. I don't need a lecture to read a book, and I would prefer to be warned that the "story" is actually a poet's attempt at relating a tale.
