Lovely erotica

This is one of my favorite erotic novellas. It is suprisingly heartfelt and tender with two characters who need hugs and they find that and much more with each other. Fair warning, Stein has a distinctive style with a ton of internal stream of conciousness for the FMC. Some readers find it frustrating and weird. But if you can get with that, the stories are satisfying. Somehow Stein manages to dial up the expliciteness without cringe tawdryness and I'm always impressed by that. The characters in this one are young and inexperienced but that doesn't dial down the spice- Stein makes it a feature of the eroticism not a bug. The narrator does a great job capturing Evie's anxiousness but without making her always sound like she is three seconds from having a nervous breakdown. Her reading of Van is also well done.
