Read it twice

Got the hard copy and the audiobook and got through both! Do yourself a favor and listen - will definitely make your commute more interesting. Boldly tackling the subjects of violence and PTSD, it’s not for the faint of heart, but also offers moments of levity and dark humor, and an overall clever depiction of life as a 20-something transplant in New York City. Rounds out a story that’s somehow both incredibly heavy and a very bright read.

Honest and authentic

The narration was excellent, and the story pulled me in right away. Avery felt so real and relatable. I could easily connect her experiences to several women I’ve known over the years. The author handled such a sensitive issue with honesty and authenticity, and it really resonated. Stories like this are so important, and this one was captured beautifully. I truly enjoyed the book and can’t wait to see what this author writes next!
