Shall Die by the Sword

In 14th century France after the black death one young lad has found his world greatly changed. His mother is dead. His father is dead, and instead of living the life as privileged nobility he has become a hostler in a backwater village on the Bay of Biscay. Here he is learning to keep his head down and live by his wits and his empathy with the animals. But alas destiny is not done with him. No, it most certainly is not.
