Acerca de esta escucha
Step back into the shadows of the 1855 Wilderness.
In the dense, untamed forests of the Pacific Northwest, 1855 marked a turning point in American frontier history. Strange and terrifying events began to haunt a remote settlement: livestock slaughtered, massive footprints in the mud, and eerie howls in the night. As tension spread, whispers of a monstrous presence became impossible to ignore.
This gripping historical tale unravels a chilling mystery, blending historical fiction, Indigenous lore, and cryptid legends. Native tribes warned of a guardian of the forest, but settlers viewed it as a threat to be confronted. What unfolds is a harrowing tale of survival, cultural clash, and humanity’s fragile balance with the wild.
Perfect for fans of Dan Simmons’ The Terror and those fascinated by cryptid lore, Shadows in the Pines dives into the heart of the unknown, revealing both the beauty and terror of untamed nature. Discover the truth lurking in the shadows.

I’m still not sure why this is called a”war”…
I couldn’t complete this book. I did make it through to the last chapter but couldn’t finish. The narrator is extremely hard to listen to for very long. Each subsequent chapter basically repeats the previous chapter.
