Selway is the story of a zoology professor from a small Missouri college who became the first to float America’s most pristine wild river and become a player in the 1960s effort to protect it and establish national systems for preservation of America’s wild lands and rivers. Also told are stories of pioneer efforts to settle here, the agency established to manage the Selway forests, and the endangered species that struggle to survive here.
