This book was written to help us navigate that struggle. Drawing on ideas from Ibn Qayyim’s Patience and Gratitude, it explores a central insight: when we confront these challenges, we often feel intense discomfort. The pain can feel overwhelming, so much so that it seems the only relief is to return to the very sin we are trying to leave behind.
