Note: This book was previously published with a different cover.

Arriving in Winding Creek, my compass was set on seeing change come alive.

The small town, with its cafe, smells, and quaint charm, held more than just flavor; it held friction.

It shines with hope, but the cager owner, Mark Carter, is full of skepticism.

He’s a grump, single dad, and half-brother of my best friend, Francine.

Although his heart has hardened over time.

His quiet life was disrupted. Our clashes are as electric as the sparks flying between us.

His daughter, Hannah, steals my heart, while Mark remains a puzzle to me.

Things became complicated once his ex-wife re-entered the scene.

Will our opposing worlds give us a second chance to will love slip away?

I've never listened with "virtual voice" narration before. Except for a few mispronunciations, I'm impressed with the mostly natural cadence of the reading. I really suggest that something similar be done with a male voice. This book was dual point of view. It was a little confusing and very distracting to hear a woman's voice narrating a man's thoughts in those chapters.

The story itself was pretty good. I thought the non-profit was a unique idea, so that made it interesting. The characters were pretty well developed, even the "villain".

I'm more of a reader, not really into audio books. But I was glad this one was available to me because the Kindle ebook had formatting errors that were never fixed, making the book unreadable. The paperback and audiobook were therefore the only way to get the story.

Anyway, if you like a clean, small town, romance comedy (I chuckled and laughed out loud quite a bit), I think you'll enjoy this book, even with the automated narration. (Again... I'm rather impressed with Audible's virtual voice feature.)

Sweet story
