Retreating to a hidden base in the woods is the only chance they have to evade discovery—a most unusual place, where laundry days are cause for excitement and the trees are full of secrets. There, the sweet simplicity of life almost makes up for the world they lost, until need forces them back to the city. What begins as a routine scavenging trip will threaten to destroy everything they've created and thought they knew. After all, it's one thing to steer clear of Takers in the city; it’s another to bring one home....
