Acerca de esta escucha
John Paul Beaumont, the Earl of Derwent, was known for his unchecked extravagance.
He teetered on the brink of financial ruin as his reckless expenses knew no bounds.
My father, a successful merchant, proposed a solution to save the Beaumont estate: our marriage.
Reluctantly, I agreed, driven by familial duty and a hidden curiosity about the handsome man behind the title.
Our union began on rocky grounds, with my skepticism clashing with his selfish charm.
But as we faced the challenges of estate management together, a transformation took place.
John Paul, inspired by my dedication, embraced change and responsibility.
I, in turn, discovered his vulnerability and sincerity.
Through trials and triumphs, our initial resistance gave way to a profound connection kindling a fire in my heart.
We went from reluctant partners to true companions, proving that even the most pragmatic arrangements can blossom into enduring love.
For love is all that matters…if our love is true.

I really wanted to enjoy it....
The story is really cute, and I wanted to enjoy it more. Please take this review as if I was a beta reader... for this was how I felt. I would have loved to have a pen in hands as I listened to make notes.
There was the use of several terms (living room, bathroom, couch) that felt out of place. There are also inconsistencies with the use of names, all of the sudden using given names when only the surname had been used up to that point, confusing me. There are also some plot breaks... like the introduction of a previous suitor halfway through the book, and the etiquette tutor simply disappears. The story does a lot of telling, and not a lot of showing. I wanted more from a quick escape for the afternoon instead of having my head go into editor mode. There are many bright moments in the story, and I think with some more editing it could become more cohesive.
Finally.... Audible... how can a computer voice have a lisp? It's quite funny.
