Resumen del Editor

After years of abuse and neglect, Parker is found chained in a junk-filled backyard after a drug bust. The little guy's terrified of people. Officer Ned Barringer brings him to a nearby shelter for medical care. When Ned learns how hard it is for dogs like Parker to get adopted, he must do more. He's also instantly taken with Kim Harper, one of the shelter managers.

When Kim offers to train Parker for free, Ned instantly accepts. That same day, he meets his next-door neighbor, a 10-year-old boy named Russell. Russell is hiding a black eye, compliments of two bullies at school. This angers Ned. He suffered the same fate as a child. It's the main reason he became a cop. But what can he do?

When a near-death tragedy occurs, what role might Parker play in bringing these three lives together?

A Good Dog Story

Dan Walsh writes stories about dogs, which I love to read. But what I appreciate the most is that he doesn’t use any foul language.

So wonderful I couldn't put it down.

The characters are so realistic and sensible. The story is uplifting and heart warming. I have read 3 books by Dan Walsh and they were all wonderful. I love when down trodden dogs or people get their lives turned around and come out on top. Dan Walsh gives a true depiction of a God loving Christian. Hillary Huber is very consistent in her excellent narration.

Great story line

I enjoyed the way the author developed his story. It was good to see how he dealt with the issues of dog adoption and school bullying.

So Bad I Had To Return It

This is the second book out of over 300 that I have ever returned. I pride myself as being open-minded and tolerant of other peoples beliefs, but this book took it way too far. Virtually every character is a Bible-thumping Christian reading their Bible daily, praying for guidance on all decisions, and reading their bible weekly, if not daily. The most devout of these "Christians" believe in swift retribution of the violent kind for anyone who trespasses against them in order to scare them to not trespass again. They love nothing better than to grab their semi-automatic guns and go down to the shooting range for a first date where they can impress each other with speeches about the second amendment.

While I try to be tolerant, the conflicting views of God, Guns, and Violence turn my stomach. I could not finish this book because of the sick feelings that it raised in me. Returned in hopes that I can forget this book and not wonder what becomes of poor Parker.
