Resumen del Editor

When his betrothed leaves him stranded at the altar, Lord Galen Woodbridge is more embarrassed than broken-hearted. Desperate to deflect attention from his humiliating plight, he decides to stir up a bit of a scandal - by wedding London's most eligible and elusive songstress, the magnificently sensuous Margot Montclaire.

After Galen proposes, Margot confides that her sexy demeanor is merely an act. A baron's daughter, she took to the stage to escape the clutches of a diabolical uncle - and reluctantly left her fragile young brother behind in his care. To win Margot's hand, Galen agrees to save her sickly sibling - but in this marriage of mutual convenience, he never planned on losing his heart...

Great farcical regency romance

Nobody does regency farce like Barbara Metzger. Her use of alliteration is exceptional. Pippa Rathborne’s narration is excellent, with perfect comic timing and inflection. I have read most of this author’s books and enjoyed them very much. While listening to Ms Rathborne narration, I gained a whole other level of appreciation for the humor and clever writing in Ms Metzger’s stories. Stevie Zimmerman narrates some of these, and while she does a very good job, many of the humorous aspects are read straight. I hope that Ms Rathborne continues to record this author’s books - all of them! You will find yourself laughing out loud. Some of the books are a bit explicit, though this one is not. I’d give it a PG rating.

Delightful

Superb comedy, superbly narrated. Lots of humor and moments of heartwarming emotion. Woven among the amusing farce, the romance evolves into genuine love, based on the actions and characters of the hero and heroine. The heroine's little brother is especially memorable, from the heart-rending drama of his initial peril to his delightful personality later. Two horribly selfish young women and a despicable wicked uncle are the villains. Contrary to another review, this IS one of the author's best!

Not her best

This one was too tedious and farcical for me. I skipped most of the middle. As other reviewers have said, the beginning is more interesting than the second half when the house and storyline turns into a circus of over-the-top events. Also, I did not care for the voice of Margot. She sounded old and sometimes shaky, so it was difficult to imagine her still in childbearing years.
