the reading was much better than I thought it would be

I was not excited to listen to another computer read book. I love stories and don't like to put them down when I have to do something other than reading. So long before audible was a thing I would get the book I was reading as a free download if I could find one. A bunch of them where read by a computer and they where always incredibly hard to follow. But I was in the mood for some dark romance so why not. They where free and a few hours long so not a big commitment. These books are short sweet fluff romances as far as dark romances go and I absolutely loved them. I have listened to around 1000 audio books and can honestly say these where fine as far as audio goes. Not as good as the audio books readers I go out of my way to get and not as bad as the ones I avoid and read instead. This is a real option for artists who don't have the means to hire a unique voice suited to their book, so many books never make it to audio for this very reason. I do understand why so many are against AI, but I will track down my favorite audio readers new books and if I like the book I check out the author, and if an author hires a person who gives a great performance I will check out what other books they have read. It is worth getting a reader with fans if you can, and it always will be. But for those who can't this is a great option.
