Born as Sarai, a daughter of wealth and privilege in Ur, land of the Chaldeans, the young woman who would come to be known as “Sarah, mother of nations,” cared as little for the distant backwater land called Canaan as she did for the old, forgotten God of Noah and those who came before him.
Then came the news that she had been pledged in marriage to her half-brother, Abram, upending her late mother’s vision for her life. Worse still, she was now forced to vow before the gods -all of them, both hers and Abram’s- that she would submit to her husband’s will, calling him ‘lord’ in all things. What could be worse?

All of that changed the day when three unusual visitors travelling through the desert appeared at her doorstep with a peculiar message. “You’re to change your name. And by this time next year you’ll be pregnant.”
