After space-time exploded on the scene more than thirteen billion years ago, cosmic evolution was off to the races. Nine billion years later, Terra was perfectly positioned to become a rare incubator of life.

And from wildly expansive life, on one small branch of evolution’s bush, there appeared mammals. Eventually great apes arrived on the stage with our thoughtful ways.

With patterns everywhere and theory of mind flowing through our brains, homo sapiens feel the mystic presence of the divine.

The Santa Fe Epic is precisely that, an epic (iambic pentameter poem) and celebration of santa fe (holy faith), as it unfolds in its astounding variety and complexity in human society. Religion’s shocking beauty and brutality reflect our homo sapiens’ instincts to worship and to war. As the subtitle has it, God’s Evolution is an amazing thing to savor as we all, regardless of personal philosophy, celebrate the joie de vivre…of being.
