Fantastic book

I have enjoyed the Three Kingdoms story for many years. I was very excited to hear a new reading of it. James Francis Markert brought fresh, vastly entertaining energy to characters that I already loved. Very worth the listen time!

amazing story from start to finish

This was an amazing story from start to finish, and the reader created many voices and did an amazing job telling the stiry. I see why this is one of China's great books. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys well told and exciting stories to get this. I doubly suggest it if you are a fan of the Dynasty Warriors video games as this is the story it is based on.

Just like the video games!

I remember playing Romance of the Three Kingdoms on the NES back in the 90s. It wasn’t until Dynasty Warriors did I realize it was based on a book. When I looked years ago after having this revelation, I didn’t find a whole lot of options, at least that weren’t Chinese… The story is epic with a lot of moving pieces. There is a wide cast of characters and it sheds some light on Chinese culture. Great book!

Fantastic translation, fantastic narration of an absolutely legendary literary classic

If you don’t know much about Chinese history or have ever played a video game like Dynasty Warriors, this is a great listen. People unfamiliar with Chinese naming conventions might have a little trouble keeping up with the characters, but if you’re even vaguely interested this is one of my favorite versions of Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
