In Judaism, there are several entities often referred to as Satan. However, one stands out above the rest, and his name is Samael. Yes, we recognize names like Belial, Mastema, and Asmodeus as being the princes and kings of the demons. However, it is Samael who has the distinct honor of being the father of the left-hand path, or as it is called in the Kabbalah, the “Sitra Achra”, or the “other side”. He is the top of the top and the father of all the Klippot that leads humanity astray. In this sense, he is the most powerful demon and the best and foremost representation of Satan that we have. Gnostics texts take it even further and call him a god.
In this audiobook, I will discuss Samael from as many vantage points as possible, and not only from the Jewish tradition. I will pull from the Christian and other traditions as well. The devil and his supposed horns, the Exorcist’s battle with the demon possessed, the inverted cross, the Osculum infame (The Infamous kiss) or the Black Mass in which a young woman is sacrificed to Satan. All these are mostly influenced by Christian ideas in some way or another. The Prominence of Christianity in the study of demonology cannot be denied.

Aside from the rituals of course, we will be covering the basics of the Watchers' story as it is understood in Genesis since it is there that the first inkling of the story emerges in the scriptural tradition. Also, some texts exist that predate Genesis that contain a proto-Watchers narrative. Some of these early stories have some connection to Ancient Mesopotamia.

The Talmud is by far the most important set of books in the Jewish faith aside from the Torah or the first five books of the Old Testament. In many ways, the Talmud may even surpass that in importance. I say this because if the Talmud did not exist, the laws that are written in the Torah would not make any sense. So in this way, it is like Jewish Canon law. Just like Catholic Canon law explains biblical texts of the bible, so too does the Talmud. It does not only explain laws, but it goes into great depth on many other topics as well.

Nice narration, informative, & enjoyable
I enjoy Baal Kadmon’s to-the-point writing style. I especially enjoy listening to his audiobooks when he narrates using his own voice rather than the deeper voice used on some of his other audiobooks. This book uses his voice and it is very pleasant to listen to. I also found this book to be very informative and enjoyable.

Well researched eye-opening work
I love the depth of knowledge and the research Baal Kadmon puts into his works. Samael is a great example of it. The author questions the dogma in a clear, well-research, and methodical way. Prepare to unlearn all you thought you knew about the origins story told by the Bible. Made me rethink my cosmology and acknowledge the nuanced story in which Light and Darkness are far from our ideas of good and bad. Beautifully written, presented, and narrated. I also love his voice. Takes you on a journey of discovery. Highly recommended!!!
