For the past five years, Special Agent Jonah Sawyer had been playing a game of cat and mouse with notorious arms dealer Dravon Maddox, leaving a path of death and destruction along the way.
But when Jonah sends an undercover agent in to infiltrate Maddox’s organization, the agent calls Jonah to tell him his cover had been blown, and when Jonah rushes to the rendezvous spot and finds the agent dead, he is ambushed, and after a gunfight and car chase, he is able to escape his pursuers, but not without being wounded, and is found by photo journalist, Olivia Rhodes, who, despite her reservations to get involved in something she was sure would be trouble for her, she offers the agent safe haven in her home.
Critically wounded, Jonah knew it would be just a matter of time before Maddox and his henchmen found him hiding out in the house on the hill, so he solicits the help of former FBI agent Cooper Holloway and his brother Carson, who race to his aid, and now they are holding vigil in Olivia’s home, preparing for what they were sure would be a battle of life and death.
As Jonah slowly begins to heal, he finds himself in another battle, and that’s with Olivia, whose headstrong will to get involved in whatever was coming to her front door, had the two butting heads, until it became less about survival and more about the sexual attraction and undeniable feelings that were building between them.
Their relationship as patient and caregiver had now turned to feelings they vehemently fought, and now they realized they had more to lose than they realized, and they vowed to save not only their lives, but their love at any cost.
