Acerca de esta escucha
STARCHILD: HERETIC is the final book in the first Starchild trilogy. It is the dark conclusion to Act I and the launch of a much larger epic, one that will leave you breathless.
* * *
THE ANCOR GAMBIT FAILED.
And so CPC4K3 emerges from infraspace towing Taiberos and his fleet.
This means that she did not help the Renegades win the Battle of Solace Sunrise.
She has only delayed it.
And now fate will have its reckoning.
Taiberos, his mind unhinged by his stint in infraspace, is driven by one thought—get revenge on Starchild—and he will hold nothing back as he unleashes his fury on Solace.
But Nak lies defenseless, unaware of the return of Taiberos and unable to defend himself. For two percents (roughly two Earth years), he has lain still, as if in death, the coma having taken all but his breathing, and there are no signs that he will ever wake.
Meanwhile, Kalh is marooned on distant Karmize. She lost Nak’s medallion, and with it she lost her passage off planet. Yet when news of Nak reaches her, she believes she may have the solution, the power through the Song to heal his wounds and wake him. Only, to return to Solace would mean revealing her location to her enemies.
Including Dray.
The fallen general wants to break free of his enslavement to Lethos, yet if he doesn’t soon fulfill his unholy bargain, which is long overdue, his own life will be forfeit. So he maintains his deadly pursuit of Kalh, an effort spearheaded by Shauu, the five-armed assassin with a longstanding grudge against her. He will not let up until she is lying dead alongside her offspring—the twins, Lysia and Link, who are now toddlers.
Will these relentless villains catch up to our heroes? Will Kalh bring her children safely home to Solace in time to save Nak? And if she does, what chain reaction could that cause?

If the StarWars prequels were good.
Think of the Star Wars prequels, but then make the characters three dimensional and add a cohesive plot.

What would you give your life for? Or choose to live for? This book asks those questions to the core!
I am a big fan of this book! The story is intricately crafted in a masterful way! I love the depth of the characters and how fully they live by their convictions. The only thing I don’t like is the swearing. And there’s a lot of murder/violence. But it’s an excellent end to the trilogy. I look forward to the continuation of the story and thank the author for the grand adventure! Well done!

When the world of Star Wars is in the toilet, this is a refreshing and excellent take on a story that will scratch that itch!
this was a really good finish to an excellent trilogy! Washburn lets you know at the end of the book, that there's a lot more to come which makes it more satisfying and makes it more exciting. this feels just like Star Wars. It also feels a lot like dune. It also feels a lot like Halo. It also feels a lot like guardians of the Galaxy. My point is, it's got a really good blend of so much beloved sci-fi that it will scratch the itch if you're looking for a great sci-fi story and love all of those I just listed. My favorite part of it was the imagery and the vivid colors and descriptions of this new to me world. This trilogy is well worth your time!

Killer good
What a fantastic “ending” ! I won’t put in spoilers but WOW! This story is like good wine … it’s gotten nothing but better with time! It’s rare ( I think ) that a 3rd book is better than the first ( which was fun!) but Washburn brings on the depth of this story and has characters doing wonderfully amazing things creating a lot of fun moments!! 2nd time he has left me on a cliff hanger with my favorite character! So exited for the next chapter

Oh, wow. Surprise ending.
I did not realize this was the direction the series was going to go. And I must admit that I think Starchild pulled this off better than Star Wars! It's once again very deep on the characters. You can really feel them. Lots of empathy. Some tragedy. And a lot of hope for the future! Can't wait to read the next trilogy!
