A lot of repeating the same things.

It was very slow starting for me. A lot of the same things were repeated, maybe for more pages?? The narrator had a delightful accent and the story does pick up eventually.

i enjoyed this one

I enjoyed this one. I haven't read a DS book for a long time. I listened to it on Audible. The story was great. I love WWII stories. I can't really think of anything that I disliked about it. The narrator did a good job. There was accent, but not so strong that it made it hard to listen. I always listen at 2x the speed because they are dreadfully slow at 1x.

Very Pleasantly Surprised!

Danielle Steel’s Royal was a pleasant surprise to me, both in somewhat novel storyline as well as in the narration.
When I started listening, I wasn’t so sure about some of the characters, about yet another WWll novel, about the narration, however, within the first chapters, I found it to be interesting, engaging and to have characters that were much more intriguing and likable than I had presumed and, the narration to be done extremely well, without being stiff or awkward!
Really enjoyed the accent on the horse aspects, which grew agreeably and logically; on the Royals as people not quite exactly mirroring the Queen of England, her family and lineage, but close enough to ring believably.
All-in-all, an enjoyable book with few — any ?? — frustrations or jarring notes. I liked it and add it to the several of Ms Steel’s books that I have enjoyed and about which I’ve been happily surprised!

Such a well written book. I loved all the characters and storyline. Im obsessed with the Royals so this book was perfect!!!
