Robin is a coming of age swamp witch, growing up under the tutelage of her mother and grandmother, powerful witches in their own right, learning her responsibility to keep evil out of this world, and hold the line for good. Relocated by the sudden, violent death of Robin's grandfather, they must leave their home turf in Georgia's Okefenokee Swamp to fix up the old man's cabin in the Florida Everglades. The initial thought is to sell it and return, but, once there, it is apparent that Robin and her mother have new challenges, a sudden awareness that they are in the end game fight! They have been pulled to Florida for a purpose! Now, it is do or die... It has been a thousand generations and The Evil Ones are tired of waiting! They have deemed the Everglades to be the battleground. The time is right, for in the modern Robin, in this New Millennium, they sense a weakness. If they can get her to succumb to forces outside her training, they will have their doorway to wreak havoc on this world. Robin's senses tell her that the Deputy Sheriff is a strong man, a good man, but an unbeliever, and yet there is more to him than meets the eye. Yes she is drawn to him, even as she is trying stay clear, handle her battles, and keep the damned door closed to The Evil Ones. One mistake on her part, and she finds herself in hell on earth. The Deputy may not believe in witches, but he reluctantly comes to understand there is an evil he has never known, and it is taking the woman he loves. Now he has to step up and help, but how? This is so far beyond the skills of man... or is it? Now allied, they both have mountains to climb, pain to endure, and with the love they are finding, a new determination to win. Will it be enough?
