Road to Darkness is a gritty, tense action-horror that follows a group of survivors as they make their way across the vampire filled wastelands of South Carolina. When their transport trailer crashes after hitting a long forgotten explosive device, the remaining survivors find themselves stranded, with the sun rapidly descending. Now they must make one last-ditch effort to make it to the next military checkpoint, and the only thing keeping them from being torn apart and devoured once night falls. However, the length of time it will take to reach salvation, is a few hours longer than they have left of daylight.
Tonally, this story is dark, with an ever-looming sense of impending horror just on the horizon. Their world is a bleak, reminder-filled wasteland that will test them every step of the way. It’s tense, foreboding and teetering at the edge of hopelessness.
