Adventurous Romance

Daisy Hamilton is on her latest mission for King & Company. When she demands the passengers in the coach “stand and deliver,” she thinks she is stopping her client’s young daughter’s attempt to elope. Instead, she encounters Lucien Vaughn, Duke of Cranford. The two of them join forces to catch the couple. Or do they? They may have different goals. Their “mission” soon becomes a romantic adventure. This is a very charming story, well-written, fast-paced, full of fun and humor, and a lovely romance. Daisy and Lucien have a history, and there is some residual animosity. The chemistry between them sizzles, and between the threats of stabbing, snarky banter, they come to know each other all over again, and, of course, fall in love. This heartwarming addition to the Her Majesty’s Rebels series is brought to life by the talented Beverley A. Crick.

Engaging & Great Story

I only dropped it a star bc the heroine didn't quite come up to snuff for me. She seemed sketchy, despite a strong start & a few moments of bravery later in the story. At his betrayal, she somehow turned into a weak maiden stomping her little ineffectual feet. Her constant threats to use her knife became silly after that. Where's the vengeful power house goddess who can fence, fight, shoot, investigate, & more? She essentially disappeared.

Plus the hero's failure to tell her his feelings or show any emotions other than sex made it hard to believe his love was anything but what the heroine suspected throughout the story: mere lust.

In other words, writer put lots of foreshadowing & internal thoughts suggesting love in the story, but nothing between each other that said "love" until the very end. The friend-like conversations felt like convenient connection rather than love-building in my opinion. Stuck in close proximity, anyone might share. Love didn't feel fully developed for me.

A Lot of Fun

Road Trip with a Rogue is a lot of fun. Daisy and her Duke wanted each other for the past 5 years, but she hated him for rejecting her. Now Daisy is trying to stop a couple from getting to Gretna Green, except she ran into the Duke, Lucien after she fought off highwaymen. They went onto Gretna Green together, and they couldn’t deny what was between them. This book was a lot of fun! I loved all of the action, the romance, and the characters! It was well plotted and imaginative!

Fantastic!

Great story with passion and spice. I absolutely loved this book series. this book was a good end to the series. I'm glad all three of the female characters found love. I would absolutely love to read another book about all three of them with them all becoming moms and diving more into their business.
