Where it was once a foregone conclusion that one day RJ would succeed Rain Robinson as boss of The Family, now, from where he was standing, Marvin and even Barbara had a clearer path to the throne than he did. “I gotta be honest with you, you missed your opportunity,” was what his new captain, Sherman Williams, bluntly told him. It left him feeling like he had dealt himself out of the conversation. Now it was time for RJ to rebuild.
