The story & the characters

The characters are well-developed& I became involved & invested in their lives. The story is very interesting.

Great fun; narration could have been better

This is a delightful light read: a real page-turner with interesting, believable characters. The only drawback is that one of the major characters, Helen, is American, and this narrator just can't do an American accent.

Great story

I enjoyed reading this book so much: all the riders, their dogs and horses. I couldn’t stop myself from reading it to the end!

Media-induced Empathy

I believe Jilly Cooper’s exceptional ability to articulate the emotions of each character is truly remarkable. The reader can almost perceive these emotions as if they were their own. Engaging with the characters as if they were real individuals in one’s life provides an effective means of escaping the confines of reality within novels, and this particular series excels in this regard. Unfortunately, I lack the time to physically possess a copy of this series, making the Audible version a worthwhile investment. I’m thrilled to discover what the other books have to offer!

Passing on the rest of the series

Racy, dicey, despicable behaviors and choices presented as the acceptable norm with main characters developed into even less likeable people by the time this phase of the saga is brought to an end. Just not how I wanted to spend 30+ hours.
