Joining us at Audible Studios is comedian, writer and podcast host, Richard Herring.
Starting out as a double act with Stewart Lee, Herring appeared in This Morning with Richard Not Judy, and Fist of Fun, and became known for his comedy drama You Can Choose Your Friends. His podcasts and interview style have wonderful charm, and his Richard Herring Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (or RHLSTP as it is affectionately known) gives insight into celebs such as Stephen Fry and Jeremy Paxman.
Herring is a prolific writer, and his latest book is a lot more personal than others: Can I Have My Ball Back? documents his diagnosis of testicular cancer, his desperation to make memories for his family, and his relief at being cancer free.
We chatted to him about his experience of cancer, how many words he’s come up with for testicles, and how he managed to laugh in the face of such a diagnosis.
