Resourceful dude on the run

Goluba’s follow-up to the excellent Cartel Hunter goes down as enjoyably as comfort food. His protagonist faces daunting problems yet the solutions never veer into super heroics; rather, plausible yet impressive grit takes the day. The narrator has a matter-of-fact style that suits this grounded yet suspenseful narrative very well. I finished the book eager for more in this series.
