Resumen del Editor

The exploitation of helpless simians by a wicked pharmaceutical company comes to an end when their genetically-altered research subjects escape, and the tables are turned on the human species that had too long exploited the creatures that share the planet with them. In this award-winning and terrifying science fiction novel, Thomas Weston envisions a future when the time of the people of today's world comes to an end, and earth moves on to the next cycle of evolution. A must read...chilling and horrific!

promising start, but ......

What did you like best about Revenge of the Simians? What did you like least?

this started out really well , intersting plot.but although the plot otself continued ok, to my mind the main characters changed their personalities completly , I did not feel there was enough explanation as to why.

Would you recommend Revenge of the Simians to your friends? Why or why not?

not really , I was disapointed , on the whole . although I don't normally mind science fiction or "alternative" books, this one seemed to too unbelievable, not because of the plot itself , but because of the characters , some of their actions just became a bit too rediculous.

What does David Dietz bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

yes , definately improved it , Davids narration is the best part of this audiobook !

Do you think Revenge of the Simians needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

NO !!! I felt it had a definate ending . stop there please !!!

Any additional comments?

I only gave it 3 stars because it really did start of well ....

Rating. 3 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐

* I received a free copy of this audiobook from the narrator in exchange for an honest review.

At a research facility called "Benevolent Pharmaceuticals" testing is done using chimpanzees. The experiments are often cruel and painful, but they are justified because they will supposedly help mankind.

The government sees the benefit of using simians as soldiers and/or suicide bombers.

To that end, Benevolent Pharmaceuticals is injecting human DNA into chimpanzees, who are getting smarter and smarter as a result. In fact, some of them can even speak a few words.

But as these chimpanzees become more intelligent and aware of their circumstances, they become angry and discontent. Eventually two disgruntled employees decide to unlock the chimp's cages setting off a chain of events that may lead to the downfall of the human race.

This book started off promising. I was afraid that it would be just another "Planet of the Apes" book and there are similarities, but it is not the same.

I don't want to give any spoilers in my review, but there were quite a few plot points that are just too far-fetched for any reader to believe. Horrible and cruel animal testing in a lab? Yes, I believe that. Disgruntled and underpaid workers in the same lab? Yes, I believe that.

Things I don't believe are the relationship plot points. It is just too ridiculous that the Wayne stays with the Francine. Francine's actions and behavior? I don't think so! Not in a million years.

The ending was what completely ruined the book for me. The way Francine obtained the lightbulb is just ridiculous and it seemed like the author needed a way to wrap the story up and chose to take an easy storyline to achieve the desired conclusion. Read this book and see if you agree. * I hope I have been suitably vague so that no spoilers exist in this review.* However, I may have been too vague and potential readers will have no idea what I an talking about.

The narration of this story was good. The narrator had a good tone and kept the story moving at a good pace.

The author gives off the impression that he doesn't think much of people. He makes fun of "hillbillies" and "rednecks" and obviously he does not like President Obama since he makes some unflattering comparisons.

All in all I feel that this book had potential but that it was lacking in believability. I rate this as 3 out of 5 stars.
