These are the questions that community role model Charles Champion must resolve. Before the incident, Charles, the protagonist of the story, was able to live out his dreams at a young age, despite the many discouraging situations that surrounded his life. Growing up in the ghetto was a struggle, but having a mother in and out of jail was not easy for him to deal with. During his teens, his uncle Jay had been there for him and his little brother; but Jay’s alcoholism only made the home more dysfunctional; which made Charles more determined to make a good life for himself and his family. Unlike his two best friends, Charles completed High School. When most would have given up, he pressed on. However, he is faced with jealousy, envy, betrayal and even hate.

Dreams & Achievements
The protagonist of this story was raised in the ghetto. The protagonist, Charles, wanted to rise above his circumstances and he used education as a way to achieve his dream. The story was intense and emotional. Drama Simpson's narration was fine and her voice was pleasing. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.
