Acerca de esta escucha
"You were so spellbinding that even when you’d slipped and scraped your claws along my chest leaving gnarly gashes I only held you tighter and smiled as I offered to file them down for you."
Requiem & Rebirth is an anthology and debut book from author/illustrator Skyler Rose (@chronicmaverick). We follow Skyler as they recall and attempt to come to terms with the memory of their abusive relationship and past traumas.
This collection is a testament to laying the past to rest through rebirth and self-recovery, with the absolute belief that self-worth can weather any storm or self-love drought we go through along the way.

Gorgeous!
Wow, this was a wonderful listen. It was narrated by the author themselves and that always makes it much more personal in my opinion. I also have the physical copy of the book myself, but I wanted to check out the audio since I had the credits available. (I've been following @chronicmaverick on instagram for a while and they do not disappoint!!)
This book deals with a lot of underlying trauma, and how an unhealthy relationship(s) can permentantly skew your perspective on self-worth. Espically in the context of how we come to teach ourselves to internalize emotions, to the point of invalidation. It takes you on a journey from something unheard, to outspoken, to unashamed and fully empowered. Very powerful messages on love, life, loss, and grief throughout. It's a welcome addition to my ever growing shelf, and one I will continue to revisit, I'm sure.
Long story short, if you're looking to support someone self published, noteworthy, and creative consider giving this one a listen! Or getting a physical copy. They even illustrated it themselves as well (cover and inner artwork!!)
Absolutely looking forward to the next installment of this anthology. Can't wait!!
