Do you know what it's like to be in love with your best friend? No not that fake love but that love that makes you want to change everything about you just to be a better person for them, that’s the kind of love Stokley has for Ashimah. However, to say that Ashimah has been through some things is an understatement. Ashimah considers herself damaged goods, an outcast by her family she moves out of state to start her life over. Though she tries to be as unobtrusive and invisible as possible she ends up in a self-deprecating position, one that almost cost her one of the most valuable things in the world; her life. She loves her best friend Stokely but doesn’t feel worthy of his or anyone’s love, so she pretends to not notice how handsome and supportive he is and when he dates other women she acts as if she doesn’t care, she even encourages him to do so. Things come to a head and decisions must be made for the sake of Stokely and Ashimah, but it’s not that simple, there’s a child involved. Will he end up being collateral damage?
