So many great moments

It’s taken me a few days to write this review because each time I wanted to write something I realized it was a spoiler! There were so many moments in this book where tension was built up perfectly and I had what I hoped was the outcome. Some of those moments played out as I imagined and others took a twist which kept me on the edge of my seat!
It was fascinating to hear Harper’s history more and what brought her to who she was….but also hearing of Maeve’s history brought their stories all together. Crazy how you can raise children in the same home and in the same type of way (good or bad) and have different outcomes. Some people rise above the brokenness or they’re able to appreciate the good graces that were there, while others crumble under the brokenness or are bitter about the blessings they can’t see. I’ve seen these things play out in my own family making this book very relatable and engaging my curiosity for the outcomes of these characters.
I feel like these characters have become my friends in some way. Now that I’m done reading this book I catch myself thinking about their various situations and wonder what will come next for these new friends I’ve made. Will everyone remain at Callaway ranch without looking to the past or will they seek redemption and healing back at home by the beach?
